    You get fitter
If you grab the mountainbike, city bike, electric bike or other kind of bike to work, you will soon notice that you feel fitter. And feeling fitter is extremely important to achieve good performance. If you cycle to work for half an hour every day, you will notice that your condition also increases and you will feel a lot younger!

    You feel better
With the city bike (Dutch: stadsfiets) cycling to work also makes you feel much better. Cycling reduces feelings of stress and depression. When you cycle, you release serotonin and endorphins. These are also called the happiness hormones. This improves your mood, makes you feel more productive and more motivated.

    You improve your immune system
If you regularly cycle to work, you also improve your immune system. This way you have less chance of various diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, breast cancer and other diseases. You are also less likely to die prematurely. When you are outside, your body also produces vitamin D, which is essential for good resistance.

    You save money
When you cycle to work, you are much cheaper than when you go to work by car or bus. If you go to work with the normal bicycle, you will not lose any money at all. If you travel by car or bus, you pay petrol and road tax and the bus ticket. Even if you have an electric bicycle, you will save money. You only have to pay for charging the bike and regularly maintaining it. And that is still cheaper than the cost of the car or public transport.

Need a snack in between? No problem
If you have cycled beforehand, you can safely eat that one tasty snack from that birthday colleague. Cycling ensures that you prevent obesity. When you cycle for 30 minutes every day, you will burn a lot of fat. And even after that, the fat burning continues. This way you don’t have to worry immediately if you eat something delicious at work.
