    This Week’s Top Stories
    =======================
    1. Europe finally adopts landmark finance curbs
    2. EU eyes ban on gulag style imports from China
    3. New EU law forces gas suppliers to guarantee supplies
    4. Europe wants to limit passenger data sharing with US
    5. EU eyes law to prevent home-made bomb-making
    6. Europe’s couch potatoes dished up local content TV diet

    Publisher’s Note
    ================
    The Commission has announced a package of measures to give
    every European access to fast broadband by 2020. These
    include a Recommendation to boost competition among telecom
    operators; a proposal to ensure radio spectrum availability
    for wireless broadband; and a Communication to spur
    investment in high-speed networks.

    Why is this important? Fast and ultra-fast broadband access
    could revolutionise people’s lives: making it easier to work
    from home and on the move; allowing for new interactive
    online services in education and health; and ushering in a
    new era of digital, user-controlled and high definition
    video services. For small businesses, they will also help
    them to lower costs and become more competitive, in
    particular through access to “cloud” services.

    1. Europe finally adopts landmark finance curbs
    ———————————————–

    2. EU eyes ban on gulag style imports from China
    ————————————————
    The Commission says it is ready to look at ways of slapping

    4. Europe wants to limit passenger data sharing with US
    ——————————————————-
    Europe has laid out strict conditions for the exchange of
    airline passenger data with the United States, Canada and
