The latest issue of Science for Environment Policy explores how Europe can move towards a more sustainable society, reduce pressure on key assets such as water, minerals, fuel and land, and at the same time increase our resource productivity.

    Prof Dr Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker, Co-Chair, Int’l Resource Panel, UNEP, says the EU needs to think big. He calls for “an economic transformation to increase resource efficiency”, as well as “a fivefold increase in resource productivity”. The EU’s response to this challenge, a roadmap towards a resource efficient Europe, is due shortly.
