Digital transformation might have become a bit of a buzzword, but it’s far from being just another fad.

The digital revolution, sometimes known as Industry 4.0, has transformed the way we do business ? and no firm can afford to ignore it.

From storing data to interacting with customers, almost every aspect of the working world has changed thanks to cloud computing. That means if you want your company to keep up with the competition, it’s vital to have an impressive digital strategy in place. However, the digital transformation process is rarely straightforward.

If your business is embarking on its digital transformation, it’s understandable to have concerns over the time (and money) the journey requires. While there are no shortcuts to effective digitisation, the good news is that you can take some simple steps to accelerate the process.

In this blog post, we’ll be sharing some ways in which you can accelerate your company’s digital transformation.

    1. Outsource Your Transformation

Whether you’re a B2B service or a B2C e-commerce brand, almost every business can benefit from a new digital strategy ? but that doesn’t mean every business has the in-house expertise to drive it.

Unless you have a dedicated IT development team, one of the best ways to accelerate your digital transformation is by outsourcing the work. Hiring a digital expert such as Proekspert can hugely speed up the process, giving you a rough timeline, price quote, and performance targets to work towards.

Not only will this help you to avoid wrong-turns and false starts when developing your strategy, but it will also help you keep costs relatively low. Shop around for quotes to make sure you’re getting a competitive deal. It will almost certainly be cheaper in the long run than attempting to manage your digital transformation yourself!

    2. Keep Your Team Informed

Changes of any kind can confuse. You should always expect there to be an adjustment period as members of your team get used to new software, but this adjustment period shouldn’t thwart your progress.

To ensure everyone is on board with your transformation, always keep your employees informed at every step of the process ? no matter their role in the company (digital changes at an enterprise level will affect everyone).

Communicate the changes well in advance and clearly explain how each transformation will benefit your business. A report by Nintex in 2018 found that a lack of communication was the number one factor causing digital transformations to fail. By communicating effectively with your team, you can keep confusion to a minimum, streamline your strategy, and prevent unwanted bumps in the road.

    3. Establish Benchmarks for Success

How do you know when your digital transformation is complete? If you haven’t come up with fixed criteria to determine your project’s success, you could be heading for a serious stumbling block. Without agreed targets, it isn’t easy to know when your transformation has worked ? and the result can be a deliverables timeline that keeps getting pushed back.

Establishing benchmarks for success is a key step in any company’s digital transformation. This will enable you to sign off on the project, monitor results, and feel satisfied that the process has helped you achieve your commercial aims.
