    The beneficiaries of EU farm subsidies will come under greater scrutiny following the Commission’s adoption this week of new rules on the publication of information on the beneficiaries of European agricultural funds.

    The legislative review, prompted by a 2010 European Court of Justice judgement, has been seen as an opportunity to increase the transparency and accountability of the common agricultural policy.
