    Member States met this week to debate putting into practice the Youth Guarantee, a major and ambitious employment reform. This new approach is based mainly on an existing model in Finland and provides all young people under 25 – whether registered with employment services or not – with a quality, concrete offer within 4 months of leaving formal education or becoming unemployed.

    The concept has been endorsed by G20 employment ministers, and the Commission says financial allocations are there. Member States will now be under scrutiny to make sure the Youth Guarantee becomes a reality, and soon.
