EUbusiness Week 716 top stories: EU proposes special disputes court for US trade deal; European Court toughens stance on ‘welfare tourism’; EU to set out negotiating stand for Paris climate summit; Alexis Tsipras: on the cusp of a second chance?; European taxi drivers block Brussels over Uber; Over 500,000 migrants cross EU border so far this year

    Publisher’s Note

With more than 12 million people in Europe unable to find a job for more than a year, the Commission has put forward a Recommendation to help the long-term jobless back to work. This foresees that job-seekers without a job for more than a year receive individual assessment and a job integration agreement, with personalised plans to get back to work.

There is no new funding, but maybe this can help jobless people into work again. Anything which highlights the plight of the long-term unemployed, who make up the hard core of Europe’s jobless, is welcome.
