    Could CETA be Europe’s last free trade agreement? Strong words from EU president Donald Tusk at the start of the EU summit Thursday, as Europe’s leaders tried to address Belgian concerns about the EU-Canada trade deal.

    The EU is desperate for a deal because, as Mr Tusk concedes, the issue goes beyond CETA. If the EU cannot convince its public that trade agreements are in their best interest, then the EU is going to find it much harder with the other trade deals currently being negotiated around the globe.
