The EU continued its drive to boost employment and employability in Europe this week. The EU’s quarterly employment review reported unemployment at a nine-year low, with the highest level of employment on record, at 235m.
And the Commission outlined its new framework for quality and effective apprenticeships. The initiative underlines the value of apprenticeships, which do a key job in responding to the skills needs of businesses, and help two out of three young people move straight into jobs after their education.
